This post is sponsored by ALDI. Click here to head straight to the $100 ALDI Gift Card Giveaway on Facebook! The week after FNCE I visited the ALDI Test Kitchen in Chicago. When ALDI reached out to ask me to attend their RD blogger event, I was pumped mostly because I couldn’t wait to learn more about ALDI. In full disclosure, at the time I wasn’t a regular ALDI shopper but I was intrigued to learn more about the brand and what all of my loyal ALDI friends were talking about. It was a super quick trip. I arrived in Chicago just in time for the group dinner at a local pizza restaurant. This trip was right after FNCE so I got to see many of my fav RD peeps again. We enjoyed some good conversation and pizza and wine (well-- minus me because I left my ID in the room-- ... View Post
FNCE 2016 in Review
Heyyyy! So it's Thursday already and how is Thanksgiving next week? This year has flown by. I'm telling you the last few months have been packed for me, it's just the nature of this time of year, right? But the good thing about that is it makes us really ready to enjoy the holidays! I told you this week was recap week on the blog where I share what all I've been up. So this time last year we had a newborn so I wasn't able to attend FNCE 2015 (the Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo) in Nashville, so this year I was NOT GOING TO MISS IT. It's that must attend conference for RDs. And when I learned the it fell on my son's 1st birthday, I begged Eric to take a little vacation to Boston so we could all be together on P's birthday. Because missing FNCE just isn't in my ... View Post
Vegan Sushi Bowls with Spicy Dressing
This recipe post for Vegan Sushi Bowls with Spicy Dressing is sponsored by Unilever. These Vegan Sushi Bowls are making my life right now… because of this spicy dressing, let’s be honest. I’m really all about the condiments. I love a good honey mustard, zesty salad dressing, sweet chili sauce, yum yum sauce and when it comes to sushi… eel sauce and spicy mayo are my thang. Ohmmmegee. This sauce makes my sushi life that much BETTA. I LOVE sushi. Like love love love it. When Eric goes out for sushi with colleagues and he comes home and tells me about it I get super jelly. Like why can’t we go on sushi dates? Date night, honey! Hint, hint… let’s go grab sushi. I don’t really do raw fish…and never sashimi. I just can’t. I know it’s so healthy, but. NO. So these vegan ... View Post
My Barilla Pasta Tour Experience
This post is sponsored by Barilla. This month has been insane with travel! So I think we are overdue for a little life lately recap. As you may have seen on Instagram, I went up to Chicago for a quick nutrition trip with Barilla. They invited dietitians with a range of specialties up to tour their headquarters and get a taste of urban farming. Naturally, we enjoyed a pasta meal or two or three. #pastaperks This was only the second time I left little Parker overnight so it was an adventure at home too, but he did very well! Aside from protesting all forms of milk (except kefir), Eric said he slept through the night… well that or he just didn’t hear him at 3am when he usually wakes up. Dads will be dads, right? So the first afternoon up there we got our hands ... View Post

Caramelized Pear Oatmeal
This Caramelized Pear Oatmeal recipe post is sponsored by Fifty50 Foods as part of their #Fifty50Foods4Diabetes campaign with Megan Media. I know, I made you a pear recipe yesterday, but I can't get enough of this Caramelized Pear Oatmeal. It's all cinnamon-y and warm and comforting, especially on a chilly fall weekend! YAY!! I've been dreaming of colder weather all year long and it's finally here, well maybe only for a few days (or hours)..and not chilly enough to dress in a cozy sweater and long pants, but that's the reality of my Florida living but I'll take whatever I can get... even if it is wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt and letting the breeze hit my face. Oh and you better bet I've been wearing my boots. Boot weather is here!!! Since it's National Diabetes Month, I ... View Post
