Eggnog Pancakes with Eggnog Whipped Cream
Impress your family and house guests with a stack of festive Eggnog Pancakes topped with creamy Eggnog Whipped Cream. This girl does not know what to do with herself... the babe is peacefully sleeping again. We went through a rough patch, from birth through 7 weeks where the only place baby would sleep was in our arms...he wasn't picky on who he'd sleep with, but he was a serious around-the-clock-hold-me-baby. I tried all.the.devices to get baby to sleep, all to no avail. If you follow me on Instagram when Parker slept for nearly 2 hours ALL BY HIMSELF in his cousin's swing, this mama was like...we're going out to purchase the swing pronto!! There was a time that I protested the swing. It's hideous looking and massive. I was one of those, I'll never let baby equipment take over ... View Post
Mulled Tart Cherry Apple Cider
Grab a mug of Mulled Tart Cherry Apple Cider this holiday season. A traditional warm apple cider infused with Montmorency tart cherries… it’s easy to prepare and a festive way to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. Thanks to the Cherry Marketing Institute for sponsoring this post. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year, and it makes me all giddy inside. I usually like to start the holidays early by decorating my house to get me in the spirit of the season, plus with all the work that goes into putting up decorations they get to stay up longer! I’m already blasting Christmas music, and the baby seems to love it. Yep, sleigh bells are jingling as I write this post. Thanks Pandora. Every other Thanksgiving we go up to my aunt’s house in Alabama for a big family ... View Post
“Pump Up Your Milk” Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins
These Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins are perfectly moist, and delicious and slammed with nutrition-- hi pumpkin, chia seeds, flaxseeds and brewer's yeast. Perfect for nursing moms (eeerr... hungry dads) + a list of foods that supports nursing. Breastfeeding. Boy do I have a lot to say about the subject right now... but in effort not to go off on a rant, I will stick to nutrition today and save the social discussion for a later date. Nursing your baby is not all roses people and I'll leave it at that. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Lactation Muffins As a new mom, I've been trying to do what I can to eat foods that support a healthy milk production so that baby Parker can be fed the good stuff. When Sonali from The Foodie Physician reached out about her latest book, ... View Post
Parker’s Birth Story
Holy November. Where has the time gone? When it comes to having kids, they say they grow up way too fast... and I understand more fully now. I've spent my days trying to keep my head above water and learn how to care for our newborn and recover and all that stuff and now at the end of the week Parker will be a month old. Seriously? So before too much time passes I wanted to pop in on the blog to share our birth story and give you a little newborn update :) Note to my foodie only readers-- this post isn't super graphic but I will talk about some medical stuff so if you are not into that hang tight.. I'll be back with a recipe tomorrow. Is that cool? Okay-- thanks. Eric and I had a 40 weeks prenatal appointment on Friday morning, but I woke up with a little drainage-- it seemed ... View Post
