These DIY Frozen Fruit Pops are a fun way to cool off over the summer—made with 100% real ingredients and no added sugar! Thanks to Welch’s for sponsoring this blog post. I don’t know about the weather where you are, but here in Florida we are in full on summer mode. It’s HOT. HOT. HOT… and I’m looking for any way I can to cool off. It seems like post Memorial Day, we all get bit by the summer bug and crank up backyard cooking and lingering on the lake (or by the pool) with friends and family any chance we can get. So that’s why I’m made this DIY Frozen Fruit Pops recipe from Welchs.com. These pops are perfect for the summer cookout. Here lately I’ve become obsessed with 100% grape juice; I just love the bold, sweet and tart flavor I get from drinking the juice, and it hydrates and ... View Post
Piñata Gender Reveal Party: The Details
We had the most memorable time at our Gender Reveal Party. My parents hosted a sweet get together for us and our closest family and friends. Eric and I didn't wait until the revel to find out if we were having a boy or a girl because we wanted that moment to be a special one just between us. So we had the radiologist put the gender sonogram in an envelope for us and we opened it at our favorite park, and then went to dinner afterwards to celebrate. We only had to keep it a secret a few days last week and the reveal party was on Saturday. My mom though of every detail. She had fun Pinterest planning with my sister and making fun decor and my dad planned the meal and manned the BBQ grill. I was lucky enough to win a giveaway for a piñata from my friend Rachel's blog; it ... View Post
Soooo… I’ve got a BIG secret to share!
Remember that time when you pretty much didn’t hear from me for weeks at a time? Many of you sweet friends even reached out to make sure things were okay with me because I was absent from my usual blog schedule. Well, let’s just chalk it up to the fact that the thought of cooking food made me feel nauseated. Yep, if you haven’t guessed it yet, I’m pregnant and will be 19 weeks tomorrow!! Like seriously? How did this happen so fast?? Time flies and this little bun in the oven is practically half baked already. Our baby is due this fall on October 15th. With this being our first, everything just seems so uncertain and nerve-racking. We went for our first doctor’s appointment at 9 weeks in February and at that point we got the confirmation that we were indeed prego, listened to the ... View Post
Run for the Trees 5K Race Recap
Last month Eric and I ran the Run for the Trees 5K. It was our first year running this local race and we had so much fun!! The event is put on by Track Shack and it’s held in Winter Park, FL, pretty close to our new neighborhood. We didn’t pick up our packets early, so we had to stop at the booth before the race to pick up our bibs. We were in a bit of a hurry to get to starting line for the 7:30AM start, but we made it in just enough time for a small local race. We don’t usually like to get there too early anyway. That morning I had my signature pre-run breakfast— gluten free waffle with peanut butter, cinnamon and honey. Sometimes I’ll top it with a banana or blueberries too for extra sweetness and texture. At the race start, Eric said he was going to run ... View Post

Eric and I made it back from Indian Rocks Beach yesterday afternoon. After work on Friday we drove over to his family's beach house at Indian Rocks which is just a little outside of Tampa by Clearwater, Florida. On Saturday we spent most of the day on the beach and outside on the deck at the house. We had good quality time with Eric's sisters, brother, spouses, nephew, mom and dad. And we took the little Pearl girl too because our usual cat sitter was not available. It was a full house this weekend! It's always nice to be reunited with family and to have a little weekend getaway. Since we just moved into a ... View Post

Can you believe it's already Thursday? This week has really flown by for me as we are still trying to get settled in our house and we haven't had a full weekend in our house without travel yet so it's been a challenge to finish all the rooms. It's going to be a fun weekend with his family and his sister here visiting from South Carolina-- they are already over there having fun in the sun today so I'm a little jealous :) So I ... View Post
