FNCE Recap!
Thank you friends for checking on me about my terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day... The i-phone was returned! I am thankful that the cab driver had a conscience. He called the hotel the evening I lost it, bartering to return it for an hour cab fare, then settled for fee from airport to hotel. I agreed to give him the money, I wanted my phone back. The hotel was amazing! If you're traveling to Philly stay at the Courtyard Philadelphia hands down. I had to go to a meeting so I left the cash with the hotel personnel. When I returned they handed me my phone and the cash back! The manager settled with the driver, and did not feel right about giving him my money to return my lost phone. After this moment everything turned around for me and I had a blast the rest of the trip. I ... View Post
Terrible, Horrible, No good, Very Bad Day.
Since arriving in Philly it has been a nightmare of a day. I've been excited for months about coming to FNCE (Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo). It's like candy land for dietitians. Well maybe I should use another analogy? :) The flight went smoothly and landed in Philly at 8:15am. And since it's been a cascade of bad events. I'm surely not in Orlando anymore... My last text message to Eric before I got out of the cab was "Orlando is a shrimp. Philadelphia is so big!" I only thought I was a city girl. I made my way out to find my taxi, and was directed by the airport staff to "the first cab on the end". It was a shabby cab, but I obliged; trying not to discriminate. It was a smooth drive into downtown, and as I was getting out of the car. The driver hustled ... View Post

It's kinda crazy how quickly life can change. Tuesday: He passed the bar!! warning: turn your volume on low before watching this video..I was just a little excited :) As I was cleaning out my desk at work Thursday morning I found this note from 6 months ago... "The season of life I'm in is only temporary. I trust I will be delivered from my circumstances and that I will be shaped for His glory during this season" When I read this, I held it tight to my heart and felt as if it was a promise from heaven, that we would be delivered from our circumstances now. Thursday: I got a new job!! and it's quite the dream job too :) Friday: Eric was sworn in as an attorney! Today: We signed the lease for our new ... View Post
DIY Pumpkin Spice Latte
Sorry Starbucks, but your pumpkin spice latte is too sweet for this girl.I'm a sucker for pumpkin and spicy this time of year. {Remember this spiced pumpkin dip?} But I can't deal with going to Starbucks and paying $4.75 for a latte, especially when I only ask for a half pump of the syrup!Today is just the day to enjoy a latte of this caliber. I had an intense massage this morning, and they basically told me I need to stop working at the computer so much because my neck is bad, like really bad. Of course I know that, but oh the sound effects of pops and cracks were pretty crazy.I hope you enjoy this pumpkin spice syrup recipe. I think we just may drizzle this over pumpkin pancakes tomorrow morn'.Pumpkin Spice Syrupmakes 1/2 cup1/2 cup water1/2 cup sugar1/2 tsp ground cinnamon1/2 tsp ... View Post
