Are you headed to the beach or mountains this summer for a little getaway? As you’re packing your bags don’t forget to pack food to stock the fridge, freezer, and pantry before you arrive to your destination. Here’s a short list of 4 easy breakfast ideas to pack for family vacations. Thanks to Good Food Made Simple for sponsoring this post!
We got back into town last night from our little beach vacay. We spent 5 days at Eric’s family’s beach house in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida. We had 10 couples and 4 babies under one roof… Eric’s parents + siblings + S.Os + kids.
While it was a blast, we are glad to be back in our own beds and sleep schedules. 3 crying babies at all times of the day/night with paper thin walls was a bit cray and exhausting. Relaxing and vacation with kids should not be used in the same sentence. The days of restful vacations are gone for now. 🙂
With the big fam and new babies, it’s nearly impossible to go out of the house to eat (plus it’s expensive!!). We usually like to hit a few local spots while we travel, but this trip was different since it was our first with Parker.
We ordered in a couple nights but the other meals we cooked family style dinners everyone would enjoy– spaghetti, burgers, sandwiches, etc. For breakfast, lunch, and snacks we kept a really stocked fridge and pantry so everyone could help themselves.
Before we arrived to the beach, we stopped at the grocery store to get some essentials for the trip. Here are some of the items that made our shopping cart that we put together for quick breakfasts.
Oatmeal
- Oats
- Almonds
- Fresh Berries
- Almond Butter (or Peanut Butter)
Fruit Smoothies
- Kefir
- Frozen Fruit (Mango and Berries)
- Bananas

Breakfast Sandwiches
- Bagels/Gluten Free Bread (or English Muffins)

- Good Food Made Simple Egg White Patties (FYI: GFMS sent me these samples to test out and I’m so hooked on the simple, wholesome ingredient lists on all their products.. I’m glad to be partnering with them this year!)
Good Food Made Simple Breakfast Burritos (Heat and eat people, these are so easy and tasty!)
There you have it folks. These are some of the breakfast eats we kept on hand to make beach living with a big fam even easier. It was so nice to recharge at the beach but today it’s back to reality as I’m trying to catch up on emails and projects.
Be back tomorrow with some highlights from our vacation.
