It’s a fiesta… engagement shower! If you’re throwing a couples shower this Fiesta Engagement Shower is a fun theme. Everyone loves chips, salsa, and sangria!
So we threw my “Mexicano” brother and his fiance a fiesta engagement shower. He has the same parents as me, and no we are not Mexican, but he LOVES the Mexican culture– the food (remember this salsa verde), the language, the people, the food. {Who doesn’t love Mexican food?? We could eat in most nights of the week.} He names all his dogs Spanish names– Fiel and Loco and he’s the king of making guac.
Truly, I thought he would find himself a Spanish gal to marry. But I will say he came close in that he did meet his fiance in Honduras. As fate would have it, they met on a dental mission trip, he was the Spanish translator and she’s is a hygentist. They’ve been back every year since they met to do mission work together in Honduras, and will be getting married NEXT MONTH at my parents home on the lake.
I can’t wait for the wedding and my entire fam is in the wedding, including little Parker as the ring bearer. He’s going to be the cutest.
So since I know how much you love party planning, I figured I’d share with you all the details from our Fiesta Engagement Shower we threw for them.
Of course I couldn’t make a party this awesome without my MOM, and SISTER, and DAD, and of course loving HUBS, he’s a big help too. In fact, Eric did all the dirty work like cleaned the whole house for me while I was cooking and he also hung the decorations with my dad outside.
We love to throw a party and Pinterest has definitely upped our game– check out my Fiesta Engagement Shower Pinterest Board for ideas. We always start of with a shared “secret” pin board so that everyone is on the same page with theme and ideas and then divvy up the projects from there.
We are all creative in our own way… my mom is quite the cook and cake decorator. My sister is so crafty… she can create and letter ANYTHING (she’s a teacher so isn’t it a pre-req to have good handwriting?) and always makes adorable sugar cookies. I help my mom with the cooking and do a lot of the styling, decorating, and vision boarding for our parties.
