Keybank Vermont City Marathon {Cabot Fit Team}
First off, I’ll be the first to admit I’m not very good at training for a marathon. The marathon requires some serious dedication. By nature, I’m a weekender. There is nothing more that I’d rather do on a Saturday morning than to wake up causally and pop over to the Farmer’s market with Eric and enjoy a cup of coffee. So when I was invited to be a part of the CabotFit team this year to run the Keybank Vermont City marathon (my 3rd and his 2nd) we decided to do our long runs on Sunday. Well, that worked for the first few weeks until we went out of town for the weekend or something came up to where we couldn’t do a long run in the morning so we’d have to go out in the afternoon, and it’s downright near impossible for me to crank out 15+ miles in the Florida heat and ... Apple Pie Quinoa Breakfast Bowl
This Apple Pie Quinoa Breakfast Bowl will make your fall weather loving life. It's spicy and topped with shredded apples, FTW. I live in Florida, which means fall is fleeting. But the moment I can feel even the slightest change in the air, I get so excited to dive into my favorite fall flavors and autumn-inspired recipes (like all things pumpkin spice). One of the most versatile and delicious ingredients is the apple. I can't get enough! They are so tart and crisp and sweet. I love the many different varieties of apples and how they are so versatile in how they can be prepared. A little cheese and apples for snack, pressed into a quesadilla or shredded on top of oatmeal. We have even roasted them with Brussels sprouts. So yummy! When I meet with people to talk about their nutrition, ... View Post
Fastest Cinnamon Buns
Found this recipe on Pinterest the other day and was talking about it with the husband. Big mistake... he has been hinting at how "we" should make them for breakfast all weekend.I guess today I woke up a little sweeter, and decided to give this recipe a whirl while Eric snoozed. As the rolls baked he began asking "what's that smell?". As soon as the timer went off, he hopped out of bed and started a pot of coffee. We'll that's an easy way to get him up! If you have a food processor, this recipe is pretty simple. It doesn't take very long to make and bake, and you can't beat the warm cinnamony smell that fills the house... I did make a few recipe adaptions. Mostly by using less sugar and butter; and halving the recipe since there is just two of us. Fastest Cinnamon ... View Post

Tonight's jog around town was refreshing, the breeze hit our skin giving us little reminders of fall. Oh I cannot wait for fall weather to get here. The pumpkin spice candle is already burning in our house, and it smells soooo yummmy. After the run, I did some minimal stretching and showered off. Then look at what I found... My fabulous husband cooked us up a warm dinner tonight. Cherry Turmeric Bedtime Tea
This Cherry Turmeric Bedtime Tea recipe was developed in partnership with the Cherry Marketing Institute. I'd like to introduce you to Cherry Turmeric Bedtime Tea. If you read this blog or follow me on social, you know I drink coffee... on the regular. It's my first thang in the morning thang and occasionally (read: often) I enjoy a decaf latte or homemade eggnog frappuccino in the afternoon. Or sometimes I get a little crazy (or caffeinated...it's only semantics people) and pour espresso over my oatmeal. But I must confess, this coffee lover met Cherry Turmeric Bedtime Tea. I'm not one of those that likes to drink coffee before bed, sure I'll take decaf coffee with dessert but right before bed, something warm, comforting, sleep inducing (and freaking healthy) is in order.
