Hey guys! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend if you celebrated. Eric and I left town Friday night and headed to our parents’ house. It’s only about 45 minutes away. Yes we both grew up in the same town 🙂
We had a really great time and got to see a few of our good friends and LOTS of family. When we arrived on Friday night my parents had a little party with close friends and family. They cooked steak and we had a yummy wedge salad, and sweet potatoes. It had been way too long since I have had a baked sweet potato. Talk about yum.
On Saturday we hung out most of the day and I got to spend some good time with Eric’s mom while the boys were out canoeing the lake. The day went by pretty fast and later that evening we went for pedicures. Yes, it was Eric’s first pedi. He might blush if he knew I were telling you this, but seriously guys need to take care of their feet too.
Easter Sunday also happened to be my birthday. I turned the big 2-8. I totally forgot it was my birthday in the morning until I saw my mom and she wished me a happy birthday. It’s a bit strange when a birthday falls on a holiday because it feels different but the best part is we were around all our fam to celebrate!
That morning I was in the mood for cinnamon rolls so while my mom was preparing Easter lunch, I whipped together a few cinnamon rolls and the strawberries are so fresh right now I couldn’t resist. We went to church with my parents and had an Easter lunch at the house, and then drove to Eric’s Mimi’s house to hang out with his parents, siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins. It’s a big gathering.
Festive Jesus Mints. Eric does not like this picture. I really hope he doesn’t read this post.
We took little Pearl with us on the trip too. It was a long one to her and she was around lots of puppies, so you could say that girl was happy to be home.
I hope your week is off to a great start!
